Week 5 EOC: Social Networks and Job Hunting

In the article about Job recruiters turning to Facebook to fine people to work for them. Companies are going on Facebook to try and find some people to work for them in a certain area that they need an employer. Some companies have signed up with Facebook and they use the website to help find people to work for them. If you have an employee who finds someone to recruit they will give that employer some money. People love talking about thing that make them happy and enjoy. Companies that everyone enjoy are trying to come up with new ideas to bring to the people. These companies are turning into influential brand ambassadors. One they pick someone to be an ambassador for that company they are trained to talk about that company and go out and talk to people. Now some ambassadors do not just talk they also will start and create a blog and then start blogging about the company too. A lot of ambassadors love their job and they don't see it as one they just enjoy going around and talking about what they love. I was perusing the “gigs” section of Craigslist and saw an ad for JetBlue lovers. I do love the airline (unlimited snacks! low fares!)—and was intrigued by the idea of a flexible 10–15-hour workweek and the possibility of training at JetBlue headquarters in New York City. I applied. In my two phone interviews with RepNation, I talked about my enthusiasm for the brand, my life at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), and my Facebook profile with its over 300 RIT “friends.” I was accepted to JetBlue’s CrewBlue ambassador program and flown free to New York for a day of training with 41 other reps from 21 campuses."

Week 4 EOC: There's an app for that

An app that should be created is an app that tells you what other kind of professional workers in your area of working are and what they do. It would be called like pro work and you could use it on any kind of phone and anywhere because it is very important to know everything about the kind of people you are hiring and what kind of customers you have. Such as if you had a client and needed a video game designer you be able to go on the app type in what kind of profession you are looking for and it should bring up some people in that area. It should also have reviews on customers or tell their story of a customer that never paid on time or anything so that if that customer is dropped and goes to another person they know about the issues that person has. It should also have reviews to tell if they are good at their jobs and if they are reliable. The app should be simple enough for people to know how to use but also have everything they could want in an app such as business numbers so they can contact them. You want to hire someone who is good and does not do a bad job just because they are lazy. You want them to put the customer before them and do a good job on whatever you are hiring them to do.

Week 3 EOC: My Demographics

The generation I was born into was Generation Y. We are the largest generation since the Baby Boomers. We are known to be sophisticated and technology wise. We are less brand noble because we grew up with it and have seen it all and know what to expect. We are simply flexible because everything has been growing since we have been born. We are also the technology savvy group because as we grow the technology is getting better and better so it is easy for us to use because we grew up with it and have always been around it. Generation Y has been pampered and nurtured unlike some of the other generations. We have been raised well with new things constantly coming out. We question everything from our parents, technology to jobs that are coming out. We are very curious and want to know everything about anything. We are a more realistic generation because we were also hit when economy went down and have also seen it when it was good. We are skeptical when it comes to employee loyalty so we like change a lot because they don't plan to be in one career for a long time. "An environment where creativity and independent thinking are looked upon as a positive is appealing to people my age. We're very independent and tech savvy"

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

The video game market has its ups and downs depending on the game system you buy. The Xbox 360 was hyped up and then once you had it everything went down, and because of that it is between a cash cow and dog. Xbox 1 is a high cash cow because they are bringing new things to the table.  The hype for the play station 4 is good and is getting promoted but we don't know how well it is because it hasn't come out yet so it is a question mark. The Wii is a cash cow because people are still using it but no one is really likely to buy them anymore with all these new systems coming out. PC games are still a hit though because people are use to using their computer to game and they don’t always have to go out to the store and buy games you can just download them from home. “The average Xbox player spends 8.1 hours a week conquering games, according to market researcher NPD Funworld. The average PlayStation 2 gamer plays 7.9 hours a week, and the average GameCube player spends 7.1 hours a week with the console.”- Chicago Tribune. “Activision Blizzard Inc. and a group of investors led by its top executives are buying most of Vivendi's stake in the world's largest video game publisher in an $8.2-billion transaction.”- Los Angeles Times

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

I’m a film composer, and a sound mixer. I have always brought my best in what I do and also look at what others in the industry do. It is important to be on the ball with the latest technology since there is always something new happening.  Being a film composer is great because you set the mood for the movies. The music is one of the most important things in a film because we set the mood for the movie and, we channel the audience’s emotions within the film. I picture what kind of music should be in certain scenes and create what I pictured. Being a sound mixer is something I enjoy and always think about. Creating trailers for films is something that is always on my mind I’m constantly thinking about what sounds should go on the right speaker or left, and where certain sound effects should be placed.  I am lucky to be doing something I love and have it as a job. I relate to Hans Zimmer and this quote of his. “If something happened where I couldn't write music anymore, it would kill me. It's not just a job. It's not just a hobby. It's why I get up in the morning.”- Hans Zimmer

Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service

A great customer service experience I have had is when I went to fright dome and the worker who was in charge of letting people inside the haunted house was very nice. She complimented me on my shirt and start conversations with whoever was in the front of the line. She was very good with making the people have a good experience and kept them wanting to come back next year. She also gave great idea's as you observed her to how you should treat people while still trying to set a creepy vibe for a haunted house. The best customer service is when they want to get to know the person and have a good vibe. If you have a good vibe and mood it will rub off on others and put them into a good mood for the rest of the day. Whenever I go out to eat somewhere I notice the people who are grumpy then the people who always have smiles on their face because you don't know they could have had a rough day but they want everyone to have a good experience. The best experience when you go out to eat is to have a waitress or waiter who is always there whenever you need them for something and they don't get annoyed or act like they are annoyed their just happy and always smiling.
